Dysmenorrhea
Menstruation is a normal part of a woman’s life. During this time the uterus contracts and relaxes, causing menstrual cramps. For many women these cramps are mild and can be relieved with over-the-counter medications. For women who suffer with dysmenorrhea, however, the pain is severe and can be debilitating. This pain may also last longer than the bleeding does. In addition it may also occur at different times of the month, which may be an indication of an underlying problem such as pelvic inflammatory disease.
If you experience severe menstrual cramps or unusual cramping, talk with your doctor at Total Woman Care about diagnosis. Treatments are available to relieve your discomfort.
