| Elizabeth A. “Betty” McGurk, MPH, PA-C
Betty McGurk completed her undergraduate studies at Columbia University.
She continued on to receive a Master’s Degree in Public Health (MPH) from the Graduate School of Public Health/Health Policy and Administration at the University of North Carolina. She completed her PA education and training at Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University. Betty is NCCPA Board Certified and NCBME licensed. Betty is fluent in Spanish. Betty comes to Total Woman Care with more than 30 years of experience in Women’s Healthcare. She previously worked at Medical Associates of Surry, Jonesville Family Medical Center, and the Surry County Health and Nutrition Center. Her vast experience includes working in an emergency department and teaching anatomy & physiology courses. Betty also spent two years working in Uruguay through the Peace Corps. Betty has a special interest in well-woman annual exams focusing on disease prevention & education, first time gynecologic exams for adolescent women, and menopausal symptoms. Betty’s warm, compassionate bed side manner, superb listening skills, & friendly personality makes her an excellent addition to the staff of Total Woman Care. In her free time Betty enjoys outdoor activities, including gardening. Betty also enjoys music. She plays both the fiddle and banjo.
